I’m using wordpress 2.9.1 and page 5 of your “WP-members Quick Start Quide does not apply. i.e. there is no “write” tab etc etc. Can you provide an update as to how one can “set up the members page”?????

Thanks Mike – WP changed to a new admin panel with 2.7, so unfortunately, those screenshots are a bit out of date. But the steps and concepts are the same. With the new admin, posts and pages are separated and rather than “write,” you need to “add new.” If you have any other questions, feel free to give a shout. Hopefully, I’ll be updating the quick start guide soon.

Hello again! I’m afraid it’s more complicated then that. The only way you can get at the “Page Slug” is to make your page, publish it, then go back and “Quick edit” it. “Edit” doesn’t show you the “slug”. Anyhow…. I got it to work………… Now I’m working on getting a “new user registration” page. I can only get the not logged in page that shows both “existing users..” and “new users registration”…. If you have any ideas, let me know….thanks Mike Z

You actually can edit the page slug during the edit process. Once a draft is saved (either manual or automatic), you can edit the page slug. It is located between the page title and the body. You don’t have to publish.

I got the plug in all installed, and I don’t see any admin area for the plug in, is there one? I did a test register and no password was emailed to me.

When someone registers can I get the information that was entered emailed to me?

Any help would be appreciated, I love this plugin and is actually what I was looking for, just need to get it working.

    Thanks – Kris

Kris, in the version you had when you commented there was no admin area for the plugin as there were no user defined settings. The user registration information is included on the user management pages of WordPress. New since you commented is version 2.2 which does have user customizable features so there is an admin panel for that.

Not sure why you weren’t getting the email on your test registration. The plugin relies on WordPress’ wp_mail function. If that is not working properly, the plugin is not going to be able to email passwords. You can test this in WordPress by creating a new user in WP admin and checking the box to send the password via email. If you don’t get it that way, you won’t get if with WP-Members either.

Having it send an email to the admin on a new user registration could be done with a little code tweaking. It is actually a feature that I intend to include in a future update as well.

      Hope that helps!
